Your ears will love you for getting to this gig when Newcastleπs own voice of jazz, Daryl Aberhart, and his band, makes a welcome return to Adamstownπs dungeonjazz next Thursday, March 6.

 

For fans of Darylπs acclaimed The Cat Within CD, your heart will love you too.

 

Because, this may be your last chance to hear Darylπs soothing, soulful and engaging interpretation of the works of contemporary jazz legend, John Scofield.

 

With a new album and musical direction in the pipeline Daryl says itπs time for him to move on. ≥This means the dungeonjazz gig will probably be my last public performance of The Cat Within songs,≤ he said.

 

≥Weπll also be doing a set of jazz standards including songs like My Baby Just Cares For Me and My Romance. Something for everyone,≤ he added.

 

And, with a specially hand- picked band - including ex-Novocastrian Nic Cecire on drums - the backing will be just as big and brilliant as the voice. ≥Nic played on The Cat Within so itπs really nice having him back.≤

 

Richard Maegraith (saxophone), Dave Longo (guitar) Gary Daley (keys) and Peter Kohlhoff (bass) complete the line up of top quality musos.
